How to ADHD Proof your home:

Hi everyone!
I’ve been working on a new parent coaching session lately: How to ADHD-proof your home.
And the more I think about it, the more I realize most of us have been sold a terrible idea:
That if our homes feel chaotic… we just need to try harder.
Be more disciplined. Get more organized. Wake up earlier. Buy prettier bins.
But after years of working with ADHD families (and living in one), I think the problem is usually not effort.
It’s friction.
ADHD homes often fail because they require too much:
remembering
deciding
transitioning
finding
sorting
following through
The goal isn’t a perfect house.
The goal is a house that supports your brain.
A few examples:
→ Bills automated
→ Keys and backpacks tracked with AirTags/Tiles
→ Laundry baskets where clothes actually come off→ One family calendar everyone trusts
→ Less visual clutter
→ Fewer tiny unfinished projects quietly draining energy
One of my favorite questions:
“If I hide this, will my brain forget it exists?”
Shoes? Fine.
Medication? Counter.
That’s not laziness. That’s strategy.
If your house feels harder than it needs to right now, I can help.
